Breath Of The Dragon

Sixteen-year-old Jun dreams of proving his worth as a warrior in the elite Guardian’s Tournament, held every six years to choose the next protector of the magical Scroll of Heaven. He’s determined that victory will restore his father’s pride and undo the mistake that led to their banishment from his home, his mother and his twin brother.

But Jun’s father forbids him from entering. Jun isn’t breathmarked — he bears none of the dragon-scale markings that grant others extraordinary abilities, like the ones his twin possesses. Refusing to give up on his dream, Jun secretly travels to the capital, stowing away with performers Chang and his daughter, Ren, who are bound for the tournament.

As the competition unfolds, Jun realises the stakes are far greater than personal honour. He may be fighting not only for his place in the world, but for the fate of the country — and the survival of everyone he loves.
