Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead

Olga Tokarczuk’s Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead is a genre-bending literary crime novel with a sly sense of humour and a sharp moral edge.

Set in a remote Polish village, it’s part murder mystery, part rural noir, with a narrator you won’t forget.

Janina Duszejko is a reclusive woman in her sixties, more at ease with animals than neighbours, and fiercely devoted to her two missing dogs.

When men from the local hunting club begin turning up dead, she’s pulled into the investigation—armed with astrological convictions, William Blake, and a refusal to stay quiet in the face of cruelty and hypocrisy.

Perfect for readers who like their thrillers unusual and idea-rich: eco-fiction, dark comedy, and literary mystery with themes of justice, animal rights, and outsiders pushing back.

Add it to your shelf when you’re ready for a strange, bracing, deeply readable story.
